Room W206/207 June 11  8:00-9:00  C2G
In Person Where Do I Put All These Devices?  Effectively Mounting Gear Without a Rack Many complex AV systems are being accomplished with gear that doesn't live in a rack.  Effectively managing that gear has become an art form.   As more gear goes behind displays, in credenza, under cabinets, and stuck in lecterns it is important to have a basic understanding of how to more appropriately manage these installs.  This session will discuss the basics of thermal management, serviceability, cable management, and ADA compliance issues when mounting gear in non-standard locations.  When done with this session, the learner will have a better grasp of the kinds of materials that make mounting gear in strange places more successful.  The learner will also understand some of the pitfalls and concerns from not using a rack.  The learner will also benefit from real-life examples of how to appropriately plan for success when mounting gear in strange places. Room W219/220  June 11 8:30-9:30  MAP
In Person  Power Up: Controlling Surges, Remote Reboots and Sustainability Power management is just as important as any other new technology to accomplish goals for an AV Design. Learn about how to take advantage of power solutions to make sure that your investment for AV deployments is safe and protected from power surges, brown outs and voltage spikes. Also learn about how to incorporate network based PDU's and cloud solutions to maintain and gather analytics to forecast critical decisions in the future.  This session will electrify your knowledge on power distribution! In Person AV Over IP: Unicast vs. Multicast Networking  So much of the AV industry is now AV Over IP.  Nearly everything connects to a data network.  There are two fundamentally different ways to send audio, video, and control over a network and understanding the differences between unicast and multicast networking can make configuring these systems much easier.  This session will focus on differentiating the two different types (with a bonus third type, broadcast).  It will help attendees understand why these are so different to deploy.  The session will help attendees select the appropriate network switch gear.  This session assumes you have already learned the benefit of AV Over IP and are ready for a bit more advanced information. Room W206/207 June 11  1:00-2:00 Luxul / Vaddio
In Person  Scope of Work: Make a Statement with your Work! Scopes of work are more than just a document, they are the most critical part of any project from start to finish. The pre-production planning leads to a smooth experience for the customer, integrator and stakeholders. Customers need to understand their responsibilities, Installation Teams need to understand the details of the job and the handoff post-installation are key with any successful deployment. Learn about the basics and necessities to create statement of work that will make a statement! Room W206/207 June 11 2:30-3:30  C2G 1 CTS
In Person  Network Filters, A Secret Sauce to Successful AV Over IP Network Configurations  There is a well known but little understood feature in managed network switches which allows the network to make interesting and complex decisions about what traffic to pass and to block.  When used appropriately, network filters can help an AV professional deploy complex networks with simpler hardware and more robust long-term operation.  This session will demystify these seemingly complex ideas and help attendees understand how, when, and why to use network filters.  The session will differentiate between egress and ingress filters while helping determine what the equipment supports.  The learners will be able to use tools to configure multicast and unicast filters to permit or block traffic.  When leaving this session the learner will feel confident with how to configure filters, when to use filters, and why filters can help simplify complex hardware configurations. TBD  June 11  2:30-3:30   Luxul
In Person Display Mounts Deep Dive: Understanding Steel Stud Environments During this session, you will learn about the different wall substrates you may encounter and what that means for selecting the right display mount for the job. You will learn what requirements are necessary to guarantee the safety of your installed system, what happens when failures occur, and how to communicate these needs to ensure the best outcome. Special focus will be given to the most prevalent wall substrate in Pro AV commercial projects – steel studs. TBD  June 11  4:00-5:00 Chief
