Middle Atlantic Launches NEXSYS Power Platform Designed, Engineered, and Built for AV Systems

Posted on 6/7/2022 by Middle Atlantic Team

Middle Atlantic is unveiling their latest solution for powering and protecting AV systems at InfoComm 2022. NEXSYS combines power distribution and power backup into a comprehensive and cohesive product platform.

“NEXSYS is built on a promise that we’ve kept for over two decades – more than half the life of the company – that our products are designed, engineered, and built for AV,” said Shane Roma, Product Manager. “It’s one thing to say it, it’s another thing to prove it. NEXSYS is a promise that we’re going to give you the right power solution for the application.”

The NEXSYS platform unites PDUs and UPSs with a common design, both internal and external, for a consistent aesthetic. Premium components ensure optimal power delivery and protection for sensitive AV equipment.

“We’re taking all the lessons we’ve learned over the past 20 years and pouring them into this platform. Each solution in the NEXSYS category is designed to generate confidence, provide choice, deliver an elevated experience, and supply premium features,” Roma said.

Every NEXSYS PDU solution comes with 15 Amp and 20 Amp options. Customers can also choose either the patented Series Protection™ or enhanced multi-stage MOV surge protection. A front panel provides visual indicators for surge status. Voltage protection can be turned on or off depending on the application. A remote contact closure keeps integrators informed about surges in real time.

“One request we got a lot was cord length,” Roma said. “The only thing worse than having to tie up five feet of cord you don’t need is being one foot too short.”

NEXSYS PDUs and UPSs all have IEC power cord inlets to give installers the flexibility to swap out the cord for a different length based on conditions at the site.

The UPS systems come in three sizes (1000VA, 1500VA, and 2000VA). All sizes have a Pure Sine Wave output and automatic voltage regulation for the cleanest power to your connected equipment. For more peace of mind, settings can be set to switch the unit to battery at a chosen threshold. Customers can choose between two outlet control options, either two banks with four outlets each, or eight outlets with individual control via built-in RackLink™ Remote Management.

“Adding RackLink to our UPS solutions is a huge win for customers,” said Nyron Kahrim, Product Manager. “Being able to remotely monitor and react to situations from the office saves time and the cost of going to the site.”

Even if ordered without RackLink, NEXSYS UPS systems can be modified if integrators decide to add the functionality at a later time. Each UPS is Energy Star certified to meet any state’s requirements.

“We all know that a true power platform requires both distribution and backup to deliver the ultimate AV experience,” said Kahrim. “We believe NEXSYS is the best in the industry, and we think the AV industry will agree.”
