Hybrid Learning

Hybrid and hyflex approaches to instruction design are here to stay, so it’s time to start designing rooms that can meet the demand for flexibility from one hour to the next. A small classroom can be equipped for live streaming and/or video conferencing with a PTZ camera, a couple of overhead microphones, and an interactive display to amp up engagement with the course materials.

Bye Office, Hello Recording Studio

Mini broadcasting studios set up on campus offer instructors, presidents or deans a location to produce professional live streaming or to record their lectures.

E-sports

In one surprising trend, many colleges have started e-sports gaming teams, and the popularity of the activity continues to grow. We’re seeing indications of a more than $1.6 billion opportunity by 2024. Expect this “trend” to become an academic pursuit in the near future and start planning accordingly.

Digital Signage

Digital signage has proven to be a vital solution to convey dynamic messaging and is far past the “nice to have” stage.  Digital signage has become an integral part of operations, expanding its role to includes campus notifications, traffic control, wayfinding, scheduling and even advertising for events or departments.

Portable Video Conferencing

Student unions or libraries equipped with video conferencing solutions in group study rooms are ideal for on-campus students to collaborate with off-campus classmates.

Science Labs

Whether it’s a biology or chemistry lab, or even a lab for teaching culinary arts, students need to be able to see what’s going on. PTZ cameras strategically placed over the work areas plus display monitors and live streaming capabilities ensure that all students have a clear view. Better yet, record the lesson using lecture capture so the next time it’s taught, students will already be ahead of the game and able to dive deeper into a topic.

When it Doubt, Lend it Out

Having several mobile live streaming carts in your campus AV lending library is a great option because they’re easy to move, easy to use, and provide a great solution for faculty members who want to deliver a polished presentation.
