Posted on 4/12/2019 by Legrand AV Team

On March 20th, Legrand | AV volunteers from Minnesota participated in a Sprout Market program to help provide food to families at Crest View Elementary.

In total, the team served 53 families – 144 children and 90 adults – with fresh, healthy food helping to fight food scarcity in our local community.

The event received some local press coverage – check out the video to learn more about the event, the partnership with CEAP and how it impacts the Crest View community in Brooklyn Park.

During the event, several staff members at Crest View expressed their appreciation for the mitten and boot supply drive Legrand | AV held in November. They said it helped keep the children’s feet and hands safe and warm during cold weather.

Crest View Elementary is the Better Schools partner for the Eden Prairie site. This initiative is aligned with three focal areas of the US Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools. Crest View is located in Brooklyn Park and has more than 300 students in Pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Over 80 percent of the students are on free or reduced-price lunch programs, and 20 percent are homeless.

The Sprout Market is run by CEAP, a local non-profit that supports low-income families in the Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park communities.
