Cooperation, collaboration, synergy, whatever you call it, it is pretty awesome

It’s been over a year since Legrand acquired the Chief, Da-Lite and Vaddio brands and combined them with Middle Atlantic. We’ve been working together since then to find more ways the individual brands can work together to create amazing spaces. It’s been a learning experience for all involved and as we continue to learn new ways to work together, we are able to provide a better experience to the AV community.

At InfoComm, we made sure to showcase each brand individually in our massive booth, but if you stopped by, you also noticed a good portion of the floor space dedicated to showing how each brand can add to a particular type of AV space, including huddle spaces, classrooms, board rooms and more. You can see them yourself in our nifty virtual reality booth tour.

As someone who started with Chief, it’s been awesome to see how the brands come together seamlessly to enhance a space.

Not only are the brands working together to transform AV spaces. They are creating new products using each brand’s strengths. Take the Impact™ On-Wall Portrait Kiosk, co-developed between Chief and Middle-Atlantic. It was a big hit at InfoComm, where it won Commercial Integrator’s BEST award and Digital Signage’s Best of Show award. The 49, 50 and 55” models are now shipping, with more size options on the way soon.

Vaddio has been working with Legrand’s Industrial Design/User Interface team to create an integrated AV solution for Huddle Space Conferencing. The HuddleSHOT houses a wide lens camera, speakers and microphones for a plug and play huddle space solution first previewed at InfoComm.

And it’s not just product changes. The brands are learning from each other as well. A group from Vaddio visited the Pinnacle Lighting facility to learn about their Lean journey and brought home improvement ideas for Vaddio assembly. Sales teams were re-organized to provide a single point of contact for all the brands to customers. Those contacts are supported by brand experts covering a larger region.

Marketing and customer experience teams are teaming up across the states to provide the messaging and information customers need without overwhelming them. One rule we came up with for teams with members at different facilities – video call whenever possible. It’s a small change, but it makes a huge difference in communications and meetings.

To put it succinctly, we’re teaming up, and we can’t wait to share the successes of that cooperation with the AV community. We have a new video with people from across Legrand | AV talking about all these opportunities and more. Take a look!
